Rugby In Cwmtawe School

This term we went for a visit to Cwmtawe! The year 10’s who took GCSE PE helped out. My group were the first ones to do rugby. I really enjoyed playing rugby. We played a game where there was one person in a coned area on each team and the goal was to throw the rugby ball to the person in the coned area and then score a goal. We also did several different activities. In my opinion I thought that rugby was the best out of all the activities. We had lots of happiness just year 5 and 6. There were also other schools there. Overall we enjoyed the whole afternoon!  🏈

Pontardawe Football Festival

Rhos Primary School attended a football tournament in Pontardawe this term and got through to the quarter finals!

We were really excited for it! The tournament lasted from 9:15AM until approx 3:00PM. It was a 6 aside tournament with 2 substitutes. The position I played was midfield. We had a certificate each and the school was given £25.00 to spend on football equipment! ⚽⚽

robot dancing

In class this term we have been learning about technology and we have been watching  clips  about robots. We have created a robot dance. Also we have been making robot masks in class and they all look really fantastic. Some of us used pens and some people used paint. I think that the paint looked more realistic than the pens.

The Wizard of Oz

Last week on Tuesday our class and the year 5s from the other class went to see a show of the wizard of Oz in Cwmtawe. This show was a musical . The show was about a girl named Dorothy who got flown away in a twister and landed in the magical land of Oz  where she travelled to thw Emerald City. Along the way she met a Scarecrow , Tin man and a Lion. However once they get to emerald city the great and powerful Oz made a deal. Dorothy and her friends had to kill the wicked witch of the west. In return Dorothy would  go home, the Lion would be brave, Tin man would get a heart and Scarecrow would get a brain.

science experiment

Tomorrow  we’re going to be experimenting with different coloured lights to see if we can create coloured shadows. We will be using one light to see if anything happens, then two lights at a time to see if it makes the shadows different. We’re then going to be using the three coloured lights. We will be making every possible outcome to see if it varies in colour. We will be using different objects during this experiment. I predict that there won’t be a coloured shadow because a shadow is the absence of colour so making a coloured shadow should be impossible. However the shadow may have an outline of colour.
