Today some of my class are going to an Urdd competition in GCG Welsh school.
We are going in a teacher’s car and we are taking violins and a drum. The children who are attending the competition from our school are me, Corey, Charlie, Ruby, Zikra and Issie.
This afternoon all the violinists who are in the Urdd are going to an Urdd competition in a different school to compete against other children in different schools.The pieces we are playing today are Suo gan and ar Hyd y nos.
Today is the day of the Urdd competition! My peers and I are going to play in the Urdd eisteddfod for a Violin competition. I was going to play the piano in the competition but sadly my peer in yr 5 PD has got chicken pox and cannot not compete against me. I can’t wait to play today (this afternoon). My teacher, Mrs Cooper, and Miss Nicolas are coming to support us in the competition.
Some time next week, two pupils from our class will be going to a meeting about well being in Cwmtawe. There will also be two year 6 pupils coming with us. we will be discus different emotions and we will test out a questionnaire.
Today, some pupils of Rhos Primary School are off to Cwmtawe to take part in Maths club!

We all visited a construction site a couple weeks ago. We got to go inside the houses, looked around the site and got a map of what it will look like when it is finished. Also we were given gifts which were items such as pens, hard hats and maps.
This term our class has got a new topic called ‘Rollercoasters’ and we designed really cool covers for our topic book.I designed a ride and a popcorn stall and fireworks.
On Friday 15th we went to St. Johns Church to recreate le Bron Stevens being baptized (the plastic doll). Firstly some of the children brought instruments to play before the baptism started. There were trumpets and pianists. Secondly the people at the church gave us leaflets which showed us what we had to say in the Mock Baptism. After that the Priest baptized the baby and we sang a song about god. After that we had a feast of cakes and drinks and biscuits. Lastly we had a slice of cake to take home to eat.
On Friday, 15th of February, our class went to St John’s Church (Alltwen) to have a mock baptism. We did the complete service and got dressed during the lunch hour into are super duper smart shirts, suits, waistcoats and the girls wore pretty dresses. I, (Ben) was chosen by are class teacher (Mrs Cooper) to be the dad of the baby doll who the local priest of the Parish Of Cylybebyll then baptised. Other of my peers were the mum, neighbours, grandparents, godparents as well as friends and family. During a talk with the priest two days earlier, on Wednesday the 13th of February,we decided the name of the baby doll and confirmed during a vote that HE would be called Le Bron, after a famous basketball player called Le Bron James. We then decided of a surname of Stevens as the name Steve was voted as the second highest in popularity after Le Bron.
