Mock Baptism

On Friday 15 of February year 5/6 had a mock baptism the baby boy was called Le Bron Stevens also I wore smart clothes and when we arrived at the church a lady gave us a booklet to follow what the parents and godparents had to say also after the baby was baptised there was loads of different party food waiting for us on the table then it was time to go back to school.

Mock Baptism

On Friday 15th our class went to a mock baptism. We each had roles to preform as you would in a normal baptism. We arrived at St John’s church at about half past twelve  and we would start at about one o’clock. The roles we had to preform meant everyone got to participate  and so everyone had fun. Instead of baptising a pupil we baptised a doll and we  named it Le Bron  Stevens (named after a famous basket ball player). After we finished the service we had food and drinks such as biscuits, cake, crisps and squash. All in all we all enjoyed to baptism and would like to do more things like this.

Our visit to the church (Mock Baptism)

Last Friday yr 5/6 went to the mock baptism in Saint John’s church Alltwen to baptise a doll. First we got on the coach. When it dropped us of then we went in to the church and then played some music. Then we said some prayers and said some words. Next we used holy water to baptise Le Bron Stevens. Then we had some food and cake. At last the coach picked us up and we went back to school.

world book day

Friday 8th March

Today, it is world book day. The whole school is dressed up and everyone looks fantastic.  We had to bring our favourite book in. I brought my secret unicorn. So you had a choice of wearing your costume or pj’s. Also everyone in the school is doing activities. Also some of Mrs Jones’ children came up to tell us their stories what they made, they were amazing. We all loved their stories!

Our Welsh Week Eistedfod and world book day!

On Thursday, 7th March, year 5/6 took part in a whole school eistedfod for our welsh week celebrations. For the entire week, we had to learn a poem and lots and lots of Welsh songs, including the national anthem. Then on the Thursday, in the afternoon, we went to the hall to join the rest of the school to sing our songs and recite our poems in front of a judge who came to see how good our school is at Welsh. Then, the following day (on Friday the 8th of March) we celebrated world book day by dressing up as our favourite book characters and creating book reviews about our favourite book. However, other people were allowed to come to school in pyjamas as well as this.

WORLD BOOK DAY !

Today we did a review on our favourite book and then created the cover of the book on a bigger piece of paper. Some of us did not like doing this activity but most of the class were thrilled. We also did an alphabetical order of children’s book titles – it was extremely fun! We were allowed to go in the library to look for some hard finds. All in all the day I think has been really funny and very interesting. We loved it!
