mock baptism

On Friday 15.2.2019 yr 5/6 went to a church to do a mock baptism and the congregation started off by lighting the large candle called a pastel. The priest then proceded to put holy water on the fake baby’s head and then the baptism candle was lit and given to the teacher. After it was put out and after that the congregation had food and went home.

Our Visit to the Church (Mock Baptism)

Last Friday, Year 5/6 went to the ST. John’s church in Alltwen for a mock baptism. First we got on the coach and he dropped us outside the church, then the reverend invited us inside. Next we got settled in and she read a couple of speeches from the bible. Then Le Bron Stevens (a doll) got baptised. After he was baptised we had a lovely afternoon tea.

On Friday 15th February the year 5/6 class went to a mock Baptism in Alltwen. We went through the mock baptism with a doll named Le Bron Stevens. We started with music and singing from our class and we had piano and trumpet accompaniments. We went through the service like you would if you were doing a real baptism. Also we had grandparents, parents, god parents and friends. The god parents were Corey, Zak, Ffion and Charlotte and the parents were Ben and Lacey. At the end of the service we had refreshments and the reverend taught us about holy water and oil.

Today, the whole school is going to a building site across the road. We are all going as groups at different times and we had a builder come in to talk about safety e.g. the road and types of vehicles in an assembly. Everyone is excited to go to the building site, we all can’t wait to go!

 

Mock Baptism

On Friday 15th February 5/6 went to St John’s Church to attend a mock baptism with Lebron Stevens being baptised (plastic baby). We went through the whole process and I was a godparent! My role as a godparent was to pray for the baby and if the parents passed away I would look after the baby. We had to say lines and prayers.

Last Friday, YR 5/6 went on a trip to ST john’s Church in Alltwen to a mock baptism. First we went on a bus and the bus driver dropped us off on the grass outside then the reverend greeted us in the church. Then she had a special bowl of holy water. Next she read some quotes from the bible. After that we baptised a baby called Le Bron Stevens. Finally, we all had some snacks!

 

 

Our Mock Baptism

On Friday the 14th of February we had our mock baptism at Alltwen Church This was a very fun trip and we all enjoyed it. Firstly we entered the church and was welcomed by a bunch of beautiful lady that greeted us in the church. As we got in one lady gave the baby doll (Le Bron Stevens) to the Mum (Lacey).  After that we started to read many songs including songs from School musicians , Piano and more! I was a Grandparent. I also played my trombone pieces. We all really enjoyed this day and we all are really grateful!

Our Trip To The Persimmon Site

Today the whole class went to the Persimmon site in Rhos, we went there to see how the houses are designed and also how they are built . At first we had to put on wellies and hard hats. Then,They gave us a tour of the site and it was so muddy! At the end of the tour we went into our friend Oscar’s new house that was being made. When we were about to leave the site we gave our hard hats back to the builders and then they gave us goodie bags to say thank you for visiting the site. In the bags there was a leaflet, A pen, a squishie and also a Keyring.

Walk to the building site

On Thursday the whole school went to the Building site.We started off by looking at the houses and what they’re made of then we watched the digger scrape the floor to show the road. Next we looked inside Oscar’s house and we had a talk. Finally we had a bag of pens, balloons, a map and a little helmet.

Our trip to the Persimmon’s ‘Alt y celyn’ building site!

On Thursday, 21st of February, the whole school,  including year 5/6, went to the building site across the road from our school on a trip on how building sites operate and to also have a look in a nearly finished house as well as this. Once we arrived there we walked up to the furthest house that was under construction to have a talk about what builders do there and how they do it. Following this, we went into a nearly completed house to look what many of the houses will look like inside. At the end once we had looked inside the house we collected some persimmon bags with a booklet on ‘Alt y celyn’ and a few things from Persimmon before leaving and returning for lunch! 🏘
